For the Cabbage Rolls
- 1 large white cabbage (about 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb)
- 500 g ground meat (beef, pork, or mixed) (1.1 lb)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon flour (10 g / 0.35 oz)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped (150 g / 5.3 oz)
- 1 large carrot, finely chopped (120 g / 4.2 oz)
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g / 0.18 oz)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (2 g / 0.07 oz)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (30 ml / 1 fl oz)
- 2 tablespoons butter (30 g / 1 oz), for greasing the dish
For the Vegetable Base
- 2–3 medium potatoes, sliced (400 g / 14 oz)
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2–3 mushrooms, sliced
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 60 g canned corn, drained (2 oz)
- 100 g grated cheese (gouda or mozzarella) (3.5 oz)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (45 ml / 1.5 fl oz)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml / 1 fl oz)
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
For Garnish
- Fresh dill, chopped
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Mixed green salad (optional, for serving)
