Directions

- Stir in sugar, melted butter, warm milk, and the egg until combined.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking tray or line with parchment paper.
- Divide dough into small golf ball-sized pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Brush rolls with melted butter and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
- Bake in preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush warm rolls with additional melted butter immediately after removing from the oven. Serve warm, with extra butter if desired.
