Directions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage until browned. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- Add Aromatics & Sauce: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the slow cooker. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and white wine.
- Season: Add dried oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or high for 2–3 hours. If using cooked chicken, stir it in during the last 30 minutes.
- Cook the Noodles: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the noodles, making sure they are submerged in the sauce. Cover and cook until noodles are tender.
- Finish & Serve: Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve hot with extra cheese if desired.
