Directions
- In a bowl, combine the beef chunks, soy sauce, lemon juice, and ground black pepper. Mix well and marinate for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Add the marinated beef to the pan and sauté for 1–2 minutes to sear slightly.
- Add bay leaves and the leftover marinade, stir to combine, then cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, stir well, and add 2 cups of water, the beef broth cube, and Thai chili. Cover and cook for 40 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beef is tender. Add more water if necessary.
- Add the sliced carrots and cubed potatoes. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Finally, add the green bell pepper and cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve hot with steamed rice for a comforting and flavorful meal.
