Directions
1. Prepare the Yellow Custard:
- In a saucepan, combine egg yolks, condensed milk, and milk.
- Dilute cornstarch in a small amount of milk first, then add to the mixture.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a gentle boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
2. Prepare the Whipped Cream:
- Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and continue whisking until smooth and glossy.
- Gently fold in the cream to create a light, fluffy topping.
3. Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
- Melt the dark chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals.
- Stir in the cream until smooth and slightly thickened. Set aside.
4. Assemble the Dessert:
- Place a layer of chopped strawberries at the bottom of your serving dish.
- Spread a layer of yellow custard over the strawberries, followed by a layer of the egg-white cream.
- Place a layer of cake on top and repeat the previous steps (strawberries, custard, whipped cream).
- Finish with the chocolate topping, spreading evenly or piping with a pastry bag for decoration.
- Decorate with additional fresh strawberries if desired.
