Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare the Biscuit Dough
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. - Add the Milk
Pour in the milk and gently mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix, as this helps keep the biscuits tender. - Shape the Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick rectangle. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter or glass and place them on the prepared baking sheet. - Bake the Biscuits
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top. Remove from the oven and set aside. - Cook the Sausage
While the biscuits bake, place the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until browned. - Add the Flour
Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir well. Cook for 1–2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste. - Make the Gravy
Gradually pour in the milk while stirring continuously. The mixture will thicken as it cooks. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the gravy becomes creamy and smooth. - Season the Gravy
Add salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using. Stir well and taste to adjust seasoning. - Assemble and Serve
Split the warm biscuits in half and generously spoon the sausage gravy over the top. Serve immediately.
