Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and green bell pepper until tender, about 5 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
- Grease a loaf pan. Press half of the meat mixture into the pan. Layer 3 slices of provolone cheese over the meat.
- Top with the remaining meat mixture, pressing gently, then layer the remaining 3 slices of provolone cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
