Original Sausage Balls

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the Bisquick, sausage, cheddar cheese, and optional chives or parsley. Mix on low speed until all ingredients are evenly combined. If mixing by hand, stir with a wooden spoon, then knead gently to form a uniform dough.
  3. Using a cookie scoop or your hands, roll the dough into 1 1/2-inch (3.8 cm) balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bottoms of the sausage balls are lightly browned and the cheese is melted. Rotate the pan halfway through for even baking.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the sausage balls cool for 5 minutes on the tray before serving.
  6. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
