Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 cup of the French onion soup, ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 6 oval patties.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the patties on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  4. Pour off any excess fat from the skillet.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining French onion soup and flour until smooth.
  6. Stir in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard powder. Pour the mixture over the browned patties.
  7. Cover the skillet and cook for 20 minutes, stirring the sauce occasionally, until the patties are cooked through and the gravy is thickened.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
