Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly combined.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Press lightly to ensure an even layer.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  8. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
