Directions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a large baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
Step 2: Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Shape the mixture into 1½-inch meatballs and place them in the prepared baking dish.
Step 3: Prepare the Potatoes
Toss the diced potatoes with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Scatter the potatoes around the meatballs in the baking dish.
Step 4: Add Sauce (Optional)
If using tomato sauce or gravy, pour it evenly over the meatballs and potatoes. This will keep the dish moist and flavorful while baking.
Step 5: Bake
Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the potatoes are tender.
Step 6: Add Cheese
Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the meatballs and potatoes. Return to the oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh touch. Serve warm, straight from the baking dish.
