Marbled Cake

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, lemon yogurt, sunflower oil, sugar, and baking powder. Beat with an electric mixer until well combined. Gradually add the flour, one container at a time, mixing until smooth and lump-free.
  2. Pour half of the batter into a separate bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to this portion and mix well until the chocolate is fully incorporated.
  3. Grease your preferred cake pan with butter and lightly dust with flour. Shake off any excess flour.
  4. Start layering the batters: pour some of the plain (white) batter into the center of the pan, then spoon in some of the chocolate batter directly on top. Repeat in alternating layers, pouring always into the center, to create a marbled effect.
  5. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) with both top and bottom heat. Bake the cake for about 45 minutes, or until a long toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before carefully removing it. Slice and serve.
