Preparation Method
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Pan
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Cream Butter, Cream Cheese, and Sugar
In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Add Eggs and Flavorings
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix just until combined—do not overmix.
Step 6: Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool and Glaze
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. If using glaze, whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice and drizzle over the cooled bread.
Tips for Best Results
