Carefully pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking pan. Do not stir the batter into the butter. Spoon the sweetened fruit evenly over the top of the batter, leaving it layered rather than mixed.
Step 4: Bake and Serve
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly around the edges. Serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
