Irresistible Caramelitas Bars

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan (8×8 inches / 20×20 cm).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt to create the base mixture.
  3. Press half of the oat mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Bake the base for 10 minutes, or until it turns lightly golden.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts evenly over the baked base.
  6. Drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the chocolate and nuts.
  7. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top to create a textured, golden topping.
  8. Bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the caramel is bubbling.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

How to Prepare

Once cooled, slice into 12 squares and enjoy the gooey, chocolatey, and caramel-rich bars. Each bite offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors, making it impossible to stop at just one.
