Honey Garlic Perfection

Directions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps them brown nicely and absorb the sauce better.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil shimmers, add the chicken thighs in a single layer.
  3. Cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and lightly crisped on the outside. You should smell a savory, roasted aroma as the chicken sears.
  4. While the chicken cooks, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl until smooth and glossy.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken. The sauce will gently bubble and thicken, coating the chicken in a rich glaze.
  6. Simmer for 6–8 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally so every piece is evenly coated. The sauce should become sticky and fragrant, with notes of caramelized honey and garlic.
  7. Check that the chicken is fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
  8. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes so the juices redistribute.
  9. Spoon extra sauce over the chicken just before serving for maximum flavor.
