Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Directions

  1. Heat the pan. Preheat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Butter the bread. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Assemble the sandwich. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto the pan. Layer the cheese slices on top. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
  4. Cook the first side. Let it cook for 3–5 minutes until the bottom slice is golden brown and the cheese starts to melt.
  5. Flip carefully. Use a spatula to turn the sandwich over gently. Cook for another 3–5 minutes until the second slice of bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  6. Serve. Remove the sandwich from the pan and let it cool for a minute. Cut in half if desired and serve hot.
