Fried Wing Flats Drizzled With Honey Lemon Pepper

Directions

  1. Prepare the oil: Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet or deep pan over medium heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking.
  2. Season the wings: Liberally coat chicken wings with all of the seasoning ingredients. Toss the wings in the flour mixture until evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.
  3. Fry the wings: Carefully place the wings in the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry wings for about 7 minutes per side or until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and drain on a wire rack or paper towels to remove excess oil.
  4. Make the glaze: While the wings fry, combine honey, lemon pepper seasoning, and fresh lemon juice in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a light boil, then remove from heat.
  5. Rest the wings: Let the fried wings sit for 5 minutes to allow the breading to settle.
  6. Drizzle and serve: Drizzle the warm honey lemon pepper glaze evenly over the wings. Serve immediately while warm for maximum flavor.
