Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, and sugar. Mix with your fingertips until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Add the eggs and continue mixing to bring the dough together.
- Add the cold water gradually—just enough until the dough becomes smooth and homogeneous. If needed, add a little more water.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes to firm up.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin.
- Using a cookie cutter, cut circles about 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter.
- Place a small cube of guava paste in the center of each circle.
- Bring the edges of the dough slightly toward the center, pinching gently to form a flower-like shape that still leaves some of the jam visible.
- Arrange the cookies on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool completely, then sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
