Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 20 cm (8-inch) round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, mixing until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this ensures a super moist cake.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Pour chocolate ganache over the cooled cakes, letting it drip naturally down the sides for a glossy finish. Spread evenly if needed.
  7. Garnish with chocolate shavings for an elegant touch. Slice and serve!
