Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites

Instructions

  1. Make the Filling
    • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
    • Fold in diced strawberries (or preserves) gently.
    • Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes to firm up slightly.
  2. Assemble the Wontons
    • Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
    • Place about 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
    • Brush the edges with beaten egg, then fold into a triangle or bring all corners together to form a pouch.
    • Press edges firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  3. Fry the Bites
    • Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry a few wontons at a time for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
    • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve
    • Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with melted chocolate or strawberry sauce.
    • Serve warm — the creamy cheesecake center will be soft and delicious!

Tips

  • Don’t overfill the wontons — they can burst during frying.
  • If you prefer baking: brush with butter and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, until golden.
  • These can be made ahead and frozen (uncooked), then fried straight from the freezer.
