Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Sprinkle the chicken slices with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Dredge lightly in flour to create a thin coating.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Deglaze and Season: Pour chicken broth into the skillet. Use a silicone spatula to scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring the broth to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Make the Creamy Sauce: Stir in the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, and lemon juice until smooth and fully combined. Allow the sauce to bubble gently for a few minutes.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the creamy sauce over each piece. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through.
- Optional Bacon Addition: For extra richness, cook bacon low and slow, reserve drippings, and use them to sear the chicken. Roughly chop cooked bacon and sprinkle on top before serving.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
