Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, grated cheese, chopped parsley, and salt. Beat until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Sift in the cornmeal and baking powder. Mix with a spoon until a rough dough forms, then knead gently with your hands until the dough is smooth and pliable.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to about 1–1.5 cm (1/2 inch) thickness.
- Use a cookie cutter or round glass to cut out circles for your donuts. Gather any leftover dough, re-roll, and cut additional circles.
- Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a saucepan over low heat. Place the donuts in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook slowly on the lowest setting. Turn occasionally until golden brown and cooked through, about 10–15 minutes depending on size.
- Remove the donuts from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
