- Pour the custard mixture into a 9-inch (23 cm) pie plate.
- Place the pie plate inside a larger baking dish. Carefully pour hot water into the outer dish until it reaches halfway up the sides of the pie plate. This water bath ensures gentle, even cooking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove the custard from the oven and allow it to cool to room temperature. Serve warm or chilled, optionally garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a dollop of whipped cream.
