Classic Beef Recipes (Roast or Grilled Steak)

Instructions

Method 1: Roasted Beef

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a roasting pan or line it with foil.
  2. Season the Beef
Pat the beef roast dry with paper towels. Rub it with olive oil, then season evenly with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and rosemary.
  3. Prepare for Roasting
Place the roast in the roasting pan with the fat side facing up so it bastes the meat as it cooks.
  4. Roast the Beef
Roast for 45–60 minutes for medium doneness, depending on thickness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy:
  • 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare
  • 140°F (60°C) for medium
  1. Rest the Meat
Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.

Method 2: Grilled Steak

  1. Preheat the Grill
Heat the grill to high heat (about 450°F / 230°C).
  2. Season the Steak
Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Grill the Steak
Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.
  4. Add Butter and Garlic
During the last minute of cooking, place a small piece of butter and smashed garlic on top of the steak for extra flavor.
  5. Rest Before Serving
Transfer the steaks to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.
