Chocolate Pudding Cake

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a loaf pan or pudding mold.

In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy and light.

Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and orange zest.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until smooth.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let cool slightly before glazing.

To Prepare the Chocolate Glaze

In a small saucepan, bring the water and sugar to a boil.

Meanwhile, chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place in a bowl.

Pour the hot syrup over the chocolate, wait a few minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.

Pour the glaze evenly over the pudding.

Decorate as desired — with chocolate shavings, orange zest, or nuts.
