Directions
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper for easy removal. - Melt Butter & Mix Sugar:
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar until well combined. Allow it to cool slightly. - Add Eggs & Vanilla:
Whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is smooth and glossy. - Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. - Bake the Brownie Layers:
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. - Prepare the Ganache:
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before using. - Assemble the Cake:
Place one brownie layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of ganache over the top. Carefully place the second brownie layer on top and pour the remaining ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides for a decadent finish. - Set & Serve:
Refrigerate the cake for at least 30 minutes to allow the ganache to set. Slice and serve to enjoy a rich, chocolatey indulgence.
