Directions

- Mix in the breadcrumbs and egg until everything is well combined.
- Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it into an even layer.
- Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the beef layer.
- Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the mashed potatoes.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
