Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) baking dish and set aside.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut each apple into 8 even slices.
- Take a crescent roll and wrap each apple slice individually, sealing the edges gently to hold the apple inside.
- Arrange the wrapped apple slices in the prepared baking dish, leaving a small gap between each dumpling.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
- Pour the syrup mixture over the dumplings, distributing evenly, and then carefully pour the 7Up around the edges of the pan—not directly over the dumplings—to keep the rolls intact.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35–45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
