Ingredients

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) tomato sauce
  • ½ cup (120 g) tomato paste
  • 1 can (4 oz / 115 g) diced green chilis
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil

For the Lasagna Layers:

  • 9 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups (450 g) ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup (15 g) chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
