• 1 teaspoon onion powder (5 g)
• 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)

For the Cooking Liquid

• 1 large onion, sliced (200 g / 7 oz)
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 375 ml beef broth (1½ cups)
• 120 ml barbecue sauce or ketchup (½ cup)
• 60 ml Worcestershire sauce (¼ cup)
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar (30 g)
• 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15 ml)
• 2 bay leaves
