Caught in the Act
The next day, pretending to leave work early, I parked near a café in Bandra.
Inside, I saw Arjun and Priya sitting close together — and she was wearing the red dress.
Their expressions were anything but those of in-laws.
I snapped a photo quietly. My chest felt hollow.
That evening, I placed the photo on the table without a word.
Arjun saw it. His face turned pale.
Rohan entered the room, saw the photo — and both brothers froze.
In that silence, I understood:
The red dress wasn’t an innocent gift.
It was evidence — of betrayal deep enough to destroy two families.
The Confrontation
The air grew heavy; only the clock ticked.
Rohan trembled as he spoke:
“Brother… with my wife… what?”
Arjun bowed his head.
Priya burst into tears.
“I’m sorry…”
I forced myself to stay calm.
“I want the whole truth.”
Arjun took a deep breath and confessed: before marrying me, he had briefly dated Priya — their neighbor’s daughter.
She later married Rohan.
But once she became my sister-in-law, they began seeing each other again.
At first, just greetings. Then favors. Then… secret coffee dates.
That red dress wasn’t just a gift.
In his phone gallery, I found photos — of them walking together on a beach in Goa, the same week Arjun claimed he was on a “business trip.”
Rohan turned pale.
I stood up, my voice steady:
“From this moment on, I am no longer your wife.”
I walked out, leaving behind a storm of anger, tears, and silence — the sound of a family breaking apart.
