Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon
    Place the drained salmon in a mixing bowl and use a fork to flake the fish into small pieces.
  2. Add the Ingredients
    Add the chopped onion, flour, cornmeal, egg, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  3. Mix the Mixture
    Stir everything together until well combined and a thick mixture forms.
  4. Form the Patties
    Shape the mixture into patties about the size of a small burger.
  5. Heat the Oil
    Pour about 1 inch of oil into a skillet and heat over medium heat.
  6. Fry the Patties
    Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Drain and Serve
    Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve warm.
