Puff Pastry and Chocolate Braid

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) so it’s ready when you assemble the braid.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Place the chocolate bar in the center. On both sides, make horizontal cuts about 2 cm apart.
  3. Fold the strips over the chocolate, alternating sides to form a braided pattern. Carefully overlap the strips to create a neat braid.
  4. Beat the egg well and brush it over the entire braid for a golden finish. Sprinkle chopped almonds or nuts on top. Optional: lightly dust with sugar or cinnamon for extra sweetness.
  5. Place the braid on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  6. Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve warm for a gooey, chocolatey treat.
