Directions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, Italian sausage, and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Return the pot to the stove, add minced garlic, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, sugar, balsamic vinegar, basil, oregano, bay leaf, and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cover the pot and bring to a boil.
- Break lasagna noodles into pieces and add to the pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until noodles are tender.
- Remove bay leaf, taste, and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan, mozzarella, or ricotta cheese.
