Million Dollar Pound Cake

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F) and grease a large bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture becomes pale and light in texture.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition to ensure a smooth batter.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the batter alternately with milk, mixing gently after each addition.
  7. Stir in the vanilla extract and optional almond extract until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
  9. Bake for 75–90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
