Directions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 9″ x 9″ (23 x 23 cm) baking tin with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low-medium heat, combine the butter, Mars Bars, and golden syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth, melted, and fully combined. Patience is key to avoid burning the chocolate.
- Add Rice Krispies: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Quickly stir in the Rice Krispies, ensuring each piece is coated in the sticky, gooey Mars mixture. Work fast as the mixture begins to harden quickly.
- Press into Pan: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking tin. Use the back of a spoon or spatula to press it evenly into the pan. Allow it to cool slightly before adding the topping.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping: Chop the 3 Mars Bars for decoration and set aside. Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 10-second bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
- Top the Squares: Pour the melted milk chocolate evenly over the Krispie layer. Smooth it with a spatula or gently shake the tin to even it out. Arrange the chopped Mars Bars on top, pressing lightly so they stick to the chocolate.
- Chill: Place the tin in the refrigerator and chill for 1–2 hours until fully set.
- Serve: Once firm, remove from the fridge, lift from the tin using the parchment paper, and cut into squares. Enjoy the gooey, crunchy, chocolatey goodness!
