Instructions
- Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa powder. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent scorching.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and nuts (if using).
- Let the mixture cool for 5–10 minutes, then beat with a wooden spoon until slightly thickened and glossy.
- Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Let it cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
