Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Coating
- Crush the Doritos into fine crumbs and mix with breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.
- Place flour in a separate shallow bowl.
- Beat the eggs in another shallow bowl.
Step 2: Coat the Mozzarella Sticks
- Roll each mozzarella stick in flour to coat completely.
- Dip it into the beaten eggs.
- Roll it in the Doritos-breadcrumb mixture.
- For extra crunch, repeat the egg and Doritos-breadcrumb coating once more.
Step 3: Fry the Sticks
- Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the coated sticks for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Step 4: Serve
- Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips & Tricks (Nsa2i7):
- Prevent cheese leakage: Freeze the mozzarella sticks for 15–20 minutes before coating.
- Even coating: Press the Doritos-breadcrumb mixture firmly onto the sticks to ensure it sticks.
- Crispier result: Double coating (egg + Doritos mixture) gives extra crunch.
- Oil temperature: Keep the oil around 350°F to prevent burning or undercooking.
Serving suggestion: Serve immediately for maximum gooeyness; leftover sticks can be reheated in the oven at 375°F for 5–7 minutes.
