John David frowned slightly.
“Routine calm?” he repeated. “What does that even mean?”
Denzel smiled a little, like the question reminded him of something important.
“It means your life has rhythm,” he said. “Not noise. Not randomness. Rhythm.”
He tapped his finger lightly on the table.
“Wake up the same way. Start your day with something steady. Something your mind can trust.”
John David leaned forward now.
“And that actually helps?”
Denzel nodded.
“Your brain is always trying to predict danger. That’s how it’s built. But when your day is predictable in the right way, it stops fighting itself.”
He paused.
“And when the brain stops fighting… you finally get peace.”
Outside, a helicopter passed overhead, shaking the glass slightly.
John David noticed how loud it suddenly felt.
“You’re saying calm is something you train?” he asked.
Denzel replied without hesitation.
“Exactly.”
