Classic Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Sauté veggies: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until soft (about 4–5 minutes). Let cool slightly.

Mix the meatloaf base: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and the cooked vegetables.

Layer with cheese: Press half the meat mixture into the loaf pan. Make a small well in the center, then layer the shredded cheese on top. Add the remaining meat mixture and smooth out the top.

Bake: Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through (internal temp: 160°F / 71°C).

Add topping: In the last 5 minutes, sprinkle more cheese on top and broil until melted and bubbly.

Rest and serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with sautéed onions and peppers if desired.

💡 Tips:

Swap ground beef for ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.

Use provolone for a more authentic Philly flavor.

Great served with mashed potatoes or a simple green salad.
