Chocolate Brownie Cake

Directions

Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan or a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, fudge brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil. Whisk until the batter is smooth and mostly lump-free.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then carefully transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, about 30 minutes more.

Optional Ganache:

5. Heat the heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl for 2 minutes, until just boiling.

  1. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until smooth and shiny.
  2. Pour the ganache over the cooled cake, spreading evenly. Let it set slightly before slicing.
