Directions

- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard (if using).
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, bacon, and cheese. Press down gently to make sure the bread soaks up the custard.
- Cover with aluminum foil and let the strata sit for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for a make-ahead option.
- Bake covered for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
- Let the strata cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
