- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (115 g / 4 oz)
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar (360 g / 12.7 oz)
- 3 (1-oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted (85 g / 3 oz)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml / 0.17 fl oz)
- 1–2 teaspoons half-and-half (optional, to thin frosting)
