Ingredients
For the dough:
- 100 g (7 tablespoons) butter
- 500 g (4 cups) all-purpose flour (0000 or fine flour)
- 60 g (1/4 cup) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) milk, warm
- Vanilla essence, a few drops
- 20 g (2 tablespoons) yeast
- 1 pinch of salt
- Zest of 1 lemon
For the custard cream:
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk
- 60 g (1/4 cup) sugar
- 1 large egg
- 15 g (1 tablespoon) cornstarch
- Vanilla essence, a few drops
For assembling:
- Dulce de leche
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- 1 beaten egg (for brushing before baking or frying)
