5-Minute Velvet Cake

Directions

  1. Prepare Your Mug or Bowl
Choose a microwave-safe mug or small bowl. Lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients
In the mug, combine melted butter, sugar, and egg. Beat thoroughly with a fork until smooth. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients
Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.
  4. Microwave
Microwave the mixture on high for 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your microwave’s power. The cake should rise and feel firm to the touch but still soft in the center.
  5. Cool Slightly and Serve
Allow the cake to cool for a minute or two. Top with cream cheese frosting, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar for a decadent finish. Enjoy straight from the mug or transfer to a plate.
